Jyoti Arya is a social-sector professional, Management Committee Champion and Secretary of the Governing Board at Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT).
Jyoti’s journey with FAT began as a participant, where she found a space to express herself, question ideas and develop the confidence to share her views. Her experiences as a participant shaped her understanding of gender, leadership and collective action, and eventually led her to join FAT as a staff member.
As part of the FAT team, Jyoti has contributed to organisational development, team and people processes, programme implementation, governance, organisational transitions and decision-making. Her work has also focused on strengthening systems and processes that enable greater ownership and participation within the organisation.
Her experience at FAT has shaped her understanding of leadership as a practice grounded in trust, shared power and values rather than authority or position. Jyoti believes that leadership involves creating an environment where people can express themselves, question, disagree, learn and take responsibility.
Today, as a Management Committee Champion and Secretary of the Governing Board, Jyoti contributes to FAT’s organisational leadership, governance and collective decision-making.
